Unlike what happened last year, the Italians also climb the podium, even if the overwhelming power of the foreign teams remains
A year has passed and things have changed, at least in part; Italian companies have worked hard to reduce the gap, against very strong foreign rivals; differences remain, which are difficult to fill, especially in the face of powers such as Inter Movistar of Madrid, absolute leaders in the European and world scene.
However, it is comforting to see Italian futsal growing, as demonstrated by the Fenice Calcio a 5, the real surprise of this 2018 edition; there is also the pleasant news of an all-Italian final, with Virtus Romanina and Futsal Lazio Academy in the Under 17s, a notoriously complicated category for everyone, given the quality level of the participants.
But there are many reasons of interest in this edition, which reaches a record with the participation of representatives from 12 nations, from 3 different continents.
On the foreign front, we were lucky enough to closely observe the crazy qualities of Atletico Paranaense, a Brazilian club, professional in football, which directs its young talents through futsal. A lot of curiosity attracts the Japanese teams in Tokyo, who present themselves with two selections, Under 13 and Under 15; we are pleasantly struck by the incredible skills of setters, not too far from the individual qualities of the Brazilians.
Those who catch our attention are the clubs of northern Europe, similar in the expression of their technical-competitive qualities; a purely physical football, with sustained match rhythms, without ever reporting a drop in concentration; among these representatives are the Rekord Bielsko Biala and the Mouscron Team, old acquaintances of the Montesilvano Futsal Cup, who have reconfirmed their value over the years, as supported by the results achieved; the Mouscron Team wins the Under 09 category, while Rekord Bielsko Biala regrets having lost the Under 15 final and the Under 19 final. a very technical and very physical futsal; fantastic team; the same thing goes for the Hungarians of Dunakeszi Kinizsi Futsal.
A specific mention for Scottish team Joga Futsal; it is the second time that a Breton team has taken part in the Montesilvano Futsal Cup, and it is the second time that they have won the category trophy, confirming their organizational skills and collective and individual qualities, just as the English team had shown us last year of Ole Futsal.
A very positive note of this event is the welcome return of the girls; with great effort it is possible to build a tournament also for the Under 17 category; the very strong team of Casal Torraccia, a club from Rome, wins, but we are happily impressed by the quality of the Hungarians of Tolna Muszi and the Finns of Kampuksen Dynamo. A quality futsal, played at a good pace; the very final is spectacular and the result matures only in the final minutes, to interrupt a well-established balance, which should have led them to the penalty shootout lottery.
But the Montesilvano Futsal Cup does not only highlight the qualities of the finalists; this is a competition that looks to all the teams of the youth sector and football school, regardless of the blazon and the results achieved. It is right to highlight the great work done, even by the Italian companies that have fought for a place among the big ones; we want to reward Elledi Carmagnola, Vallerano Futsal, Napoli Calcetto, Naiadi Accademia Sport and Alcyone Calcio. All have stood out, fighting, even on an equal footing, against stronger teams. We appreciate everyone’s intention to develop an aware futsal, made up of ever more evolved, ever more current strategies and game modules; in this there is obviously the merit of the boys, as well as the technical staff.
A heterogeneous 6th edition, in which different realities are measured, in which sports values and culture emerge, as it should
More and more the Montesilvano Futsal Cup is the representation of a world championship for youth sector categories.
We remember the winners of this 6th Edition of the Montesilvano Futsal Cup:
